Free Membership & Messaging
Creating a profile and matching with other members is completely free. As a free member, you’ll have limited access to certain features and a limited number of messages based on the free messaging credits awarded to you upon registration.
Once your free credits are used, you can upgrade to a premium membership or purchase additional credits to continue messaging and enjoy more features.
What's the minimum age to join DecentDates?
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We take age verification seriously to keep our community safe.
Why has my photo been moderated?
Every photo is reviewed to keep DecentDates safe and authentic. Photos may be flagged if they don’t clearly show your face, include contact information, contain explicit content, or don’t appear to be a genuine photo of you. If your photo was removed in error, you can contact support to request a review.
Can I use DecentDates without adding a photo?
Yes. You can use DecentDates without adding a profile photo. However, profiles without photos have limited visibility and cannot be matched with by other members, resulting in little to no discovery.
For the best experience and a higher chance of getting matches, we strongly recommend adding a clear profile photo.
How do I verify my profile?
Look for the verification option in your profile dashboard – you’ll be asked to upload some necessary documents. Verified profiles get a badge, which helps build trust with other members.
What are DecentDates Boost and Premium?
Boost temporarily puts your profile in front of more people to increase your visibility. Premium unlocks extra features like advanced filters, seeing who’s liked you, and an ad-free experience. Both are optional add-ons – the core matching experience is always free.
How do I cancel my Premium subscription?
You can cancel anytime from your account settings under “Subscription.” Your Premium features will remain active until the end of your current billing period.
Will I be charged automatically when my subscription renews?
No. Your subscription does not renew automatically. Your subscription will expire after the expiration date of your chosen plan. To continue using the membership, you’ll need to manually purchase the plan again or upgrade to a higher plan.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are generally not available except where required by law. Please contact support if you believe you were charged in error.
How does matching work on DecentDates?
We look at your preferences, interests, and profile answers to suggest people we think you’ll genuinely connect with. You can also set filters like age range and location to refine your matches further.
How does messaging work on DecentDates?
Once you and another member match, messaging opens up automatically so you can start a conversation. This keeps things comfortable – no unsolicited messages, only conversations both people want to have.
Why can't I message someone I'm interested in?
Messaging opens once there’s a mutual match. This ensures conversations are wanted on both sides rather than one-sided.
Can I unmatch or block someone?
Yes. You can unmatch or block anyone directly from your conversation or their profile at any time. They won’t be notified, and they won’t be able to contact you again.
