Community Guidelines
DecentDates is built on real connections between real people. To keep our community safe, respectful, and genuine, everyone who joins agrees to follow these guidelines. Violating them may result in a warning, content removal, or permanent suspension of your account.
Our Core Principles
Be genuine. Represent yourself honestly – your photos, age, and profile information should reflect the real you.
Be respectful. Treat every member the way you’d want to be treated, even if a conversation or match doesn’t work out.
Be safe. Never put another member’s safety, privacy, or wellbeing at risk.
Profile Standards
Your profile should be a true, current representation of you.
Photos must:
Be recent, clearly show your face, and be of you (not a celebrity, stock photo, or someone else)
Be free of nudity, sexually explicit content, or graphic violence
Not include contact information (phone numbers, social handles, etc.) in the image itself
Your profile must not:
Impersonate another person, celebrity, or public figure
Include false information about your age, relationship status, or identity
Promote a business, service, or “OnlyFans”-style content
Contain hate speech, slurs, or symbols associated with hate groups
Respectful Conduct
We do not tolerate:
Harassment or abuse – repeated unwanted contact, threats, insults, or intimidation
Hate speech or discrimination – based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
Sexual harassment – unsolicited explicit images, messages, or requests
Stalking behavior – tracking, showing up uninvited, or refusing to respect someone’s boundaries after they’ve disengaged
If someone makes you uncomfortable, you’re never obligated to keep responding. Block and report — you don’t owe anyone an explanation.
Prohibited Activity
The following will result in immediate account action:
- Scams and fraud — requesting money, gifts, financial information, or investment participation from other members
- Catfishing — using fake photos or a fabricated identity
- Soliciting — advertising services, products, or other platforms
- Spam or bots — automated messaging, mass unsolicited outreach, or fake accounts
- Underage use — DecentDates is strictly for users 18 and older
- Illegal activity — anything that violates local, national, or international law
Messaging Etiquette
Take “no” for an answer. If someone doesn’t respond or asks you to stop, respect that.
Avoid sending unsolicited explicit content.
Don’t pressure anyone to share personal information, move to another platform, or meet in person before they’re ready.
Keep conversations honest — don’t manipulate, guilt, or lie to get a response.
Reporting and Enforcement
If you see a violation of these guidelines, please report it through the user’s profile or a conversation. Our team reviews all reports and takes action based on severity, which may include:
A warning
Temporary suspension
Permanent account ban
Referral to law enforcement, where appropriate
We aim to review reports promptly and will never share your identity with the person you report.
